Below, I would like to introduce you to some of my favorite patients and friends.

If you would like to let others know about you or your business, please let us know; we want to promote our friends in our town. We have such a talented group of patients and it would be great if you knew more about each other. Give us a chance to brag on you - let us put your music, restaurant, service or store on our website and in our newsletter.

James A. Crutchfield
Among the first patients that I met after moving to Franklin in 1993 was Jim Crutchfield. Anybody that changes horses (secure careers) in midstream to pursue a passion intrigues me. Anyone that can tell a powerful story with passion does as well. People that know Jim Crutchfield know that he successfully does both. James has been so generous to share his knowledge of the history of Williamson County with us in our newsletters. He has written several articles for us to feature including How the Harpeth River Got Its Name – Maybe, The Early Days of Williamson County, The Building of the Williamson County Courthouse, and Religion was an Important Element in Early Williamson County. If you enjoy his articles, make sure you pick up one of his wonderful books at Amazon.com. READ MORE JAMES CRUTCHFIELD'S ARTICLES IN OUR FALL 2006-2007 NEWSLETTERS.
Josephine Garner
Mrs. Josephine Garner was born in West Tennessee near Waverly in Hurricane Mills. Her grandfather operated a very large farm there where Loretta Lynn now lives. After completing her training, she taught school in Waynesboro, TN until the happy day she met her husband to be while visiting an aunt in Franklin. Mrs. Garner is quite active and is an excellent restaurant critic. We enjoy reporting to one another the new places we’ve found. She also enjoys Bible reading even though she must use a magnification machine given to her by her brother, Captain William R. Anderson. He was the skipper of the USS Nautilus and made history in 1958 guiding the sub beneath the North Pole ice cap. A story well worth Google-ing. It is a blessing to me and to my staff to have Mrs. Garner as a patient and as a friend. READ MORE ABOUT MRS. GARNER IN OUR WINTER 2008 NEWSLETTER.
Rex Paul
Rex Paul, long-time Nashville engineer, producer and session guitar player, has released his latest CD, Hero Shuffle, which includes monster solos from rock guitar giants Eric Johnson, Phil Keaggy and Dann Huff. Combined with Rex Paul’s own tasty licks, this CD is stuffed to the gills with 14 cuts of pure fretboard magic that no rock ‘n roll aficionado can afford to miss, and is available online at www.rexpaul.com. Rex teams with veteran writers like Tom Douglas to provide a masterfully built foundation of songwriting on which Rex and his friends nail together a house of rock ‘n roll magic. Originally from Marble Falls, Texas, Rex has been in Nashville for 17 years and is currently a producer for Sony on Nashville’s famous Music Row. READ MORE ABOUT REX PAUL IN OUR FALL 2007 NEWSLETTER.
Kate Sansing
The past year has been very busy for Country newcomer and Colorado native, Kate Sansing. After completing her 2006 self-titled, debut CD produced by Leigh Reynolds, Kate spent the rest of the year touring and promoting the new album. Kate spent much of her childhood performing and touring in dance and musical theater groups. When she eventually moved to Nashville, she brought with her a mature marketing plan. Kate spent her first five years in Music City networking, learning the music business, making friends, finding songs, and putting herself in a position to independently finance a full-length album where quality would not be compromised. Listen to Kate online at cdbaby.com. READ MORE ABOUT KATE SANSING IN OUR SUMMER 2007 NEWSLETTER.
Todd Sansom
“How many 28-year-old guys have had the complete recording artist experience, have toured all across the US and Canada, have been on radio stations, national TV and in record stores nationwide? I have so much experience under my belt, and yet I feel like my whole career is still in front of me.” An exceptional writer, accomplished musician, powerful singer and dynamic performer, it’s easy to see why Todd consistently gets the reaction that he does. And like he says, he’s just getting started. The Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding Charlottesville, Virginia have given the world many inspiring musicians. The Dave Matthews Band, Bruce Hornsby, Phil Vassar and The Statler Brothers were all raised in these Shenandoah shadows. Now, with Todd Sansom, the mountains have done it again. The Smithsons
Waldon and Ruby Smithson have lived here in Franklin for a long time and have a great story to tell. Mr. Smithson came to Williamson County from Cannon County (Gassaway, TN) in 1924 when his father took a job as a farmer in Rudderville. Ruby grew up an Allen in Leiper’s Fork. They married 68 years ago and are unaware of anyone in the county that have been married longer. The secret, they say, is to give and take in marriage, knowing that either spouse can be right or wrong in conflict. Mr. Smithson had two careers that spanned 42 years, first with Dorch Stoveworks and then with Mid-State Steel. Proud parents of two sons and several grand and great-grandchildren, the Smithsons are a blessing to those who know them and a part of Franklin’s rich heritage.
